The Natural Stone Council was formed to promote the values associated with the Genuine Stone name. It is made up of stone industry businesses and trade associations. Allied Stone Industries

ASI is a not-for-profit organization made up of quarriers, fabricators, suppliers of natural building materials and related machinery and tools. ASI provides a venue for domestic stone companies to gather together and discuss common problems associated with the natural stone industry.

Its membership is by invitation only and limited to 75 member firms. This ensures that members have the highest moral and business character. Although many members fabricate marble and granite, that is not the focus of the association. The membership is comprised primarily of domestic limestone and sandstone quarriers, fabricators, and dealers. Building Stone Institute

BSI is a not-for-profit trade association serving its member firms and educating consumers on the uses and benefits of natural stone. BSI works on behalf of the quarries, fabricators, dealers, importers, exporters, carvers, restorers, designers, and installers that comprise our membership. BSI continually strives to provide programs and resources that enable member companies to offer the highest level of quality products and services. BSI also works with architectural and design communities ensuring that they are well versed on the applications, both structural and aesthetic, of stone. Elberton Granite Association

The Elberton Granite Association, Inc. is the largest trade association of granite quarries and manufacturers in the United States. More than 250,000 granite memorials are manufactured annually by EGA firms and shipped throughout the United States. EGA represents more than 150 member firms. In addition to encouraging traditional memorialization and high standards of quality, EGA also maintains a voice in the national and international granite industry with regard to market development and technology. Marble Institute of America

The Marble Institute of America (MIA) is worldwide and includes nearly 2,000 stone producers, exporters/importers, distributors/wholesalers, fabricators, finishers, installers, and industry suppliers—all committed to the highest standards of workmanship and ethics. The MIA publishes the Dimension Stone Design Manual (DSDM) which serves as the authoritative source of information on standards of stone workmanship and practice and the suitable application of stone products. Mason Contractors Association of America

The Mason Contractors Association of America (MCAA) is the national trade association representing mason contractors. The MCAA is committed to preserving and promoting the masonry industry by providing continuing education, advocating fair codes and standards, fostering a safe work environment, recruiting future manpower, and marketing the benefits of masonry materials.

The Mason Contractors Association of America is the only trade association which represents the needs of the industry mason contractors. Through strong programs, publications and services the MCAA promotes the interests of its members. National Slate Association

The National Slate Association is a not-for-profit North American organization comprised of quarries, distributors, contractors and consultants to the natural slate roofing industry. The association’s goal is to promote the use of slate in both 21st century new construction, and its preservation and restoration on existing and historic buildings.

The association is actively involved in monitoring existing industry material standards and is researching slates performance in areas of severe weather conditions and its applicability to emerging LEED certification criteria. The National Slate Association is developing an Installation and Design Manual that will assist designers, specifiers, installers and building owners to ensure slate is properly chosen, supplied, designed and installed to produce the best possible results. Through regular board, sub-committee and general meetings, and the maintenance of an informational website, the association offers a forum for the exchange of ideas by industry professionals.
